The British American Hotel

Once located on Ferry Hill, only steps from the Detroit–Windsor ferry landing, northeast corner of Ouellette and Riverside (Dieppe Park). It was built as an extension of an older hotel – The Hirons House, which survived the Great Fire of 1871; renamed The American Hotel, then the British American Hotel in the mid 1880s (photos: 1915, 1969—in its final days before it was razed).
